"New" old pictures!

I'm not stupid, but I can be a slow learner some times.

Other times, I'm a little intimidated to try something new because I'm afraid I'll screw it up - hey, I've got a history.

So after we got our new Mac I was really disappointed that it didn't recognize our digital camera.  In the Microsoft world, much of the technology is "plug and play."  Just plug the USB port into your PC and the new gizmo is up and running.  I have found that isn't necessarily the case with a Mac.  (it could also be very possible I'm doing something wrong - hey, I've got a history).

I knew when I purchased a Mac that they weren't compatible with some things - it is Bill Gates' world and we just live in it.  Apple is Microsoft's competitor and Microsoft is the giant of the world.  But the payoff to owning a Mac is that you get a fine-oiled machine that just works.  And that's very much proven true so far.

But one rainy evening I decided to get a little brave and do a search for software that might make my Mac recognize my camera (a five year old Kodak).  Low and behold I found a free download on Cnet.com and by golly it worked!

So I was finally able to transfer a bunch of pictures on my camera - stuff from as far back as Easter that never made it to my old laptop.  I might as well share a few pics here...

If you are ever looking for my daughter, you will probably find her drawing or painting.  (If she becomes an artist, I sure hope she is fantastic and really lucky so she can make a living doing it.  None of this starving artist or living-at-home-till-she's-40 crap in my household!)

Painting an abstract (um, I guess...?)

Studying horse anatomy (just like da Vinci, I might add.)

Teaching little brother the good, bad and ugly of being a serious artist.  Or is it artiste?

Now some for some Easter fun, three months late...
Coloring eggs with Mom...

This was Neil's reaction every time a newly dyed egg was taken away.

I like to call this picture "Proud!"

Easter morning, 2011.  Beth and I had to work, but we still tried to make it as special as we could.

"Neil!  Guess what?  We can have chocolate for breakfast today!!"

I guess he stuffed the whole bunny in his mouth in case his sister attempted a "drive by" heist.

See ya next time.
