Monday Night Favre
Sitting here watching Monday Night Football. Green Bay Packers vs. Denver Broncos... but ESPN seems not to have noticed that any other players are on the field except for Brett Favre. They were celebrating his career on the preshow, then at one point during a Packers drive, the camera never came off Favre while his wife (I think her name is Mrs. Favre) was being interviewed in the booth by the three stooges that host Monday Night Football. Then they went to a commercial break and guess what? Yep, Favre was on a Wrangler jeans commercial. Heck, even when Denver has the ball and Favre is on the sidelines, they keep showing close-ups of him picking his nose, popping a Vicodin or two, or itching his crotch.
Good God, enough of frickin' Brett Favre already. About every 10 minutes or so, the camera cuts to Favre's wife in the stands, where she sits prim and proper cheering on her hubby. I can honestly say that I have had to fight off waves of nausea. It's no secret that I hate Brett Favre. He is the face of an organization which is my life-long, sworn enemy: the Green Bay Packers. I do have a grudging respect for him. He's played the game a long time and he's broken some impressive records: most consecutive starts, most wins, most touchdowns thrown, most interceptions thrown (which nobody seems to talk about, especially ESPN), and even I would admit that he is a first ballot Hall of Famer.... but enough of the love fest already!
Well my week of work is over. Enjoyed the day off with my girls. We were all home together for the first time in two weeks, so it was nice just to hang out, listen to music and watch Ava dance (Ava insists that music is playing all the time. She'll point to the stereo and say "oosick!").
Looking forward to the next few days off, although tomorrow is back to the grind for Beth. Still waiting for the State Farm insurance adjustor to come around. Hopefully that will happen tomorrow.
