June 2

It has been a while since I've posted anything. There's just not anything exciting to talk about, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Last week we got HD television, which is great. I am now set for football season. I've been watching baseball, hockey and basketball just because it is in high definition. I really could care less about the hockey and basketball playoffs, but once you see something in HD, it is hard to watch anything else. I know, sounds dumb if you've not had the "HD experience."

We got home from camping yesterday. We went to the Gull Lake Recreation Area Campground, which is only about 10 minutes away from our house. It's nice to start off the camping season close to home because there's always kinks to work out with that first trip. On Saturday afternoon we were in a severe thunderstorm warning, which turned into a tornado warning. The park rangers were advising everyone to head for shelter. We had about 20 minutes before the storm hit, so Beth and I made a very quick decision to go home since we were so close. If Ava hadn't been with us, we probably would have went to the shelter at the campground, but being the overly-protective father I am, we decided to head for a safer location, especially since we knew we had time. To make a long story short, we got home and nothing really came of it. It went just north of us, so we went back to the campground after about an hour.

But we had a good time camping between storms and rain. Of course Sunday was gorgeous, when we had to pack up and go home. Doesn't it figure?

It's back to work tomorrow. Beth works evenings tonight. It would be so nice to have one more day off together, but it's not going to happen. Oh well.
